𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵? Do you lead workshops or trainings about something in particular that you’re passionate about?
Niche offerings are one of the best ways to make your retreat stand out from the rest and immediately capture students’ attention. When people are deciding where to invest their time and money, they’re looking for something that feels unique, purposeful, and aligned with what they need most.
𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀:
✨ Do you offer reiki at the end of your sessions?
✨ Do you have a deep understanding of the energetic inner body that you weave into your teaching?
✨ Do you specialize in women’s health or men’s mental health, and want to bring that focus into a retreat container?
✨ Do you use aromatherapy to create an immersive sensory experience?
𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆:
•Trauma-informed yoga, where the retreat becomes a safe, healing environment.
•Bhakti yoga, where music, mantra, and storytelling take center stage.
•Buti yoga or aerial yoga, bringing energy, creativity, and fun to the practice.
•Even hot yoga, fitness, or dance-based retreats, each one attracting a very specific kind of participant who’s already excited about that niche.
Your niche doesn’t have to be complex or esoteric, it just needs to reflect what you do best and what lights you up. That’s what people remember and what makes them say, “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦.”
For example, one of my own niches is Yoga Nidra. Many of my retreat guests join me specifically because they enjoy the way I guide this practice. It’s not something they can always access in their daily lives, and it becomes a highlight of their retreat experience. Your niche can be the same- the thing that makes your offering irresistible.
In fact, your niche could be the very reason your retreat becomes not just memorable, but also incredibly successful and profitable. Students want clarity: they want to know what they’re signing up for, and they want to feel confident they’re joining something that fits them perfectly. 𝗔 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆.
And it doesn’t stop with retreats. Many teachers are now leading destination-style trainings, combining the depth of workshops or certifications with the adventure of travel. Think: a reiki training in Costa Rica, a trauma-informed immersion in Portugal, or a yoga nidra training in Bali. These experiences are becoming more and more popular, and they create opportunities for you to grow your community and income in new ways.
Leading retreats is more than just a way to travel, it’s a chance to share your passion more fully, to create transformation beyond the studio, and to build offerings that are both meaningful and sustainable.
✨ Are you ready to lead your next retreat? I help teachers and leaders bring their vision to life through:
•Full-service retreat planning (so you don’t get lost in logistics).
•One-on-one coaching (so you feel confident every step of the way).
Together, we can turn your niche into a retreat or destination training that’s impactful, unforgettable, and profitable.
5 Things I’ve Changed About The Way I Run Retreats
Some changes came from watching how guests actually move through a retreat. Others came from realizing that a beautiful property and itinerary aren’t enough to make people register 𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯. These are five things I do differently now.
