It’s not enough post to some pictures and drop your Venmo link. If people are going to spend a significant amount of money, it’s worth putting time and effort into how you present your offering.
While aesthetics matter, 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.
The moment someone lands on your retreat sales page, 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴:
•The retreat name (hinting at its promise)
•The location
•The dates
The theme or purpose of the retreat is crucial. 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲, not industry jargon. The theme should solve a specific problem (and it can be broad, but you’re solving something nonetheless) and highlight the benefits of attending.
🌅 Next, people will want details about the venue. Most will research it themselves, so high-res pictures act as the bridge that helps them imagine being there.
Don’t skip a headshot and teacher bio, these are often the first things people look for. It’s how they get a feel for who you are and why they’d want to learn from you🧘♀️
Be crystal clear about 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 and 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁. No detail is too small. You want your page to answer every single one of their questions so they don’t walk away with hesitation or confusion.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 “𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄” 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀, 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲:
• Where to fly into
• Deposit amounts
• Payment deadlines
• Refund policy
• Travel insurance recommendations
• Any travel requirements
And finally- forms and payment links matter. Make sure people can input their information, sign terms & conditions, clearly see room options (with photos) and pricing, and check out through a trusted platform like Stripe or PayPal. Tools like Zelle, Cash App, or Venmo might work for casual transfers, but for a professional retreat offering, they can undermine trust. A secure, professional payment link goes a long way in building confidence.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 and they’re often the difference between someone signing up or walking away.
➡️ P.S. Interested in full-service retreat planning? Beyond all the behind-the-scenes logistics and admin, 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿: 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲. It’s included- because how you present your retreat is just as important as the retreat itself.
